The Harivansa also known as Harivansa Purana is an important work of hindi literature, containing 16,374 shlokas, mostly in the anustubh metre. This text is believed to be a khila to the Mahabharata and is traditionally ascribed to Vyasa.
The Harivansh Puran is a Hindu scripture considered an appendix to the Mahabharata, focusing on the genealogy and life of Lord Krishna. It details Krishna’s birth, childhood, exploits, and spiritual teachings, along with the stories of the Yaduvansh (Krishna’s lineage). The text is believed to be composed by Maharishi Ved Vyas.
